YMCA Is Looking For Nominations Of Professionals Who Give Back

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati is looking for professionals who share its vision of nurturing the potential of young people, and promoting healthy living and social responsibility. Selected and sponsored by their companies to represent them, YMCA Achievers who will be honored at the 2012 Salute to YMCA Black & Latino Achievers Gala will also commit to volunteering a year to inspire students toward paths of success. Nomination sponsorships are being accepted through June 1, 2012.

The 2012 Salute to YMCA Black & Latino Achievers Gala will be held November 16, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Sharonville Convention Center. YMCA Camp Ernst Announces Major Renovations

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Since 1928, thousands of youth from throughout the region and around the world come to the beautiful, sprawling, park-like setting of YMCA Camp Ernst where they strengthen their skills and make diverse friendships in an environment that stresses positive character values.  This summer, on their way to check-in, campers will see an all new Welcome and Health Center under construction. Funded with a lead gift from the Schiff Foundation, the new Center is part of the first phase of what is the camp’s first major multi-million dollar renovation since the 1970s.

They are 40 of Greater Cincinnati’s truly exemplary role models of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility. And they are ALL teenagers. On April 17, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati and the community joined in celebrating them as YMCA Character Award recipients. The ‘Shine On’ YMCA Character Awards Event was sponsored by Tom Gill Chevrolet and FOX19, and was held at the School for Creative and Performing Arts. It was emceed by FOX19 Morning Xtra Host Tracey Johnson.

The YMCA Character Awards kicked off the Y's celebration of Global Youth Service Day, an international service event celebrating the service contributions of youth, in partnership with YSA, State Farm, and United Healthcare.

David Uible looking forward to becoming a Clermont Commissioner

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - The Clermont County Republican Central Committee has appointed New Richmond businessman David Uible to fill a vacancy on the Board of Clermont County Commissioners.  He replaces Commissioner Archie Wilson, who resigned from the position earlier this year.  The committee selected Uible from a field of 10 candidates during a meeting on Wed., March 14.  “I am humbled and pleased to have been selected for the position,” said Uible.  “I look forward to learning the process of how the county operates.  My first objective will be to work on getting the budget under control; we cannot continue deficit spending.”

Loveland names new high school principal

LOVELAND,OH (FOX19) - After an extensive search, the Loveland City School District Board of Education has named Mr. Christopher Kloesz as the next Principal of Loveland High School for the 2012-13 school year. Kloesz is currently the Assistant Principal at LHS—a role he assumed in July of 2011.  He will be replacing Dr. Molly Moorhead who is retiring at the end of this school year. The Board approved a two-year contract for Kloesz at its March 6, 2012 work session.

Kloesz, 41, is in his eleventh year as a public school educator and began his educational career as an English teacher at Loveland High School (2001-2002). He has also worked as an English/Language Arts teacher at Sycamore High School, and as an Assistant Principal at Lakota East High School. Prior to his decision to embark upon a career in education, Kloesz served five years, active duty, in the U.S. Coast Guard (1994-1999).

Funeral services set for Moscow council member killed in tornado

 

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - Funeral arrangements have now been made for longtime Moscow, Ohio councilwoman Carol Forste.  The 64-year-old was killed when her home was hit by a tornado that moved through the Clermont County village on Friday.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 11 a.m. until noon at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, located at 200 Western Avenue in New Richmond.  Services will follow the visitation.

Rabolt Named New Clermont Administrator

BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - The Board of Clermont County Commissioners have named Stephen Rabolt as Clermont County Administrator; Rabolt has served as interim administrator since Jan. 1, 2012.   Rabolt has over 20 years of public service experience.  He has been employed by Clermont County since 1996 and has served as the county’s director of the Office of Technology, Communications, and Security, overseeing county information technology, phone service, facilities management, records, the Department of Public Safety Services, and the Emergency Management Agency.
