Loveland names new high school principal

LOVELAND,OH (FOX19) - After an extensive search, the Loveland City School District Board of Education has named Mr. Christopher Kloesz as the next Principal of Loveland High School for the 2012-13 school year. Kloesz is currently the Assistant Principal at LHS—a role he assumed in July of 2011.  He will be replacing Dr. Molly Moorhead who is retiring at the end of this school year. The Board approved a two-year contract for Kloesz at its March 6, 2012 work session.

Kloesz, 41, is in his eleventh year as a public school educator and began his educational career as an English teacher at Loveland High School (2001-2002). He has also worked as an English/Language Arts teacher at Sycamore High School, and as an Assistant Principal at Lakota East High School. Prior to his decision to embark upon a career in education, Kloesz served five years, active duty, in the U.S. Coast Guard (1994-1999).

Kloesz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati (English Literature, 1994) and a Master of Education degree (Secondary Education, 2000) from Xavier University.  Kloesz and his wife, Nicole, live in Landen with their daughter, Sophia.

“Mr. Kloesz has risen to the top of a deep and well-credentialed pool of applicants for the Principal position,” shared Dr. Marschhausen.  “It is evident that he has made a tremendous mark on our district in the year he has served as our Assistant Principal. I am eager to start working with Mr. Kloesz as we plan for the future. I am confident that his leadership will provide the necessary encouragement and direction for LHS to continue to reach new levels of excellence.”

“I am truly honored to have been selected to be the next principal of Loveland High School.  Being a school leader is a great privilege and I take pride in knowing that I have the opportunity to work with the staff, students, parents, and community in a partnership that is dedicated to the intellectual, moral, emotional, and social development of our students,” said Kloesz. “Loveland High School has flourished under the leadership of Dr. Moorhead, and I am very enthusiastic about continuing and cultivating our first-rate academic programs, as well as maintaining our established traditions and esteemed legacies.”

As part of the new Principal search the district solicited feedback via an online survey as well as focus groups with parents, students, and staff.  More than 180 individuals shared their thoughts about Loveland High School and the qualities they were looking for in a new high school principal through an online survey.

“This feedback was helpful throughout the principal search process,” said Loveland's Human Resources Director, Chad Hilliker. “It was evident from this feedback that parents, teachers, and students have the utmost respect for Mr. Kloesz and the job he has been doing this past year as Assistant Principal.”
