Concert to benefit the Literacy Council of Clermont and Brown Counties | Events

NEWTOWN, OH (FOX19) - The power of words will be supported by the power of music when the Music Among Friends concert takes place August 26, benefiting the Literacy Council of Clermont and Brown Counties.
The fifth annual Music Among Friends benefit concert will take place on Sunday, August 26 at 4:00 p.m. at the St. John Fisher Church in Newtown.
Hosting and performing at this year’s concert is flutist Suzanne Bona, host of the nationally broadcast classical music program Sunday Baroque, heard locally on 90.9 WGUC. Joining Ms. Bona as performers are:
- Internationally acclaimed pianist Sandra Rivers;
- Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra bassist Matt Zory;
- Violinist and founder of the Constella Festival, Tatiana Berman;
- Pianist and CCM Doctoral student, Eun-Joung Kim;
- Classical guitarist Richard Goering;
- CCM Professor of Percussion and recording artist, Rusty Burge;
- Pianist and recent solo artist with the Chicago Philharmonic, Julia Siciliano;
Serving as Honorary Advocate for this year’s concert is NFL Hall of Famer and longtime Cincinnati Bengal, Anthony Munoz. Mr. Munoz will be in attendance at the concert to greet the audience and thank them for their support of the efforts of the Literacy Council.

Advanced tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for child/student with all proceeds benefiting the Literacy Council programs serving adults in Clermont and Brown counties. Tickets at the door (based on availability) will be $25 for adults, $15 for child/student. Ticket price includes a post-concert reception with the performers.
The mission of the Literacy Council of Clermont and Brown Counties is To enable adults to acquire basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills needed to participate fully in society, and to increase awareness of literacy needs in our community.
