BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) – A long standoff on West Fork Ridge Drive off old 32 in Batavia Township has ended peacefully.
A woman locked herself in a camping trailer behind a home on that street and was threatening to hurt herself with a weapon. Clermont County Sheriff’s deputies were called out after someone called up in mid-morning and said they were concerned about the woman.
When deputies arrived, they could see she the woman was in the trailer and had a gun in her hand. They surrounded the place from late morning to mid afternoon and started talking with the woman, asking her to come out and give up her weapon.
After four hours, she came out and surrendered the gun, which turned out to be a loaded 9 millimeter pistol.
She was taken to a hospital for mental evaluation. Sheriff Tim Rodenberg says she may face criminal prosecution after she gets out of the hospital.
