Clermont County offers you a position with a say in upcoming projects

 

BATAVIA (FOX19) - The Board of Clermont County Commissioners is inviting interested citizens to apply for a vacant position on the Clermont County Planning Commission. 

The duties of this commission include the development, updates, application, and enforcement of the Clermont County Subdivision Regulations, county thoroughfare plan (Access Clermont), recommendations to various township zoning authorities (pertaining to changes in their local zoning regulations), and other land use planning initiatives.

The Clermont County Planning Commission generally meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.  Clermont Planning Commission members serve a three-year term; no members are permitted to serve more than two consecutive terms.

Governor Kasich visits Clermont County

BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19)- Ohio Governor John Kasich visited Batavia Township Thursday for the opening of a new plant that will use the latest processes to recycle aluminum. 

The governor attended a ribbon-cutting at Global Scrap Management's new Altimet facility, which is located in part of the old Ford Plant on Batavia Road. 

The plant will take used material containing aluminum and process it into high-quality ingots and pellets.

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Deerfield Pointe Charitable Group, Inc. held its annual fundraiser for local children’s charities this Saturday at the Day Heights Memorial Firefighters Hall.  This event, Project Rewind of Milford (P.R.O.M.) was able to raise $3,500 for local charities including the Corey Nickell Memorial Fund and Kids Against Hunger.

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Melink Corporation’s Intelli-Hood controls were named 2012 Product of the Year at the International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) held in Chicago last week. Melink received the award during the expo’s annual Innovation Awards ceremony, where Intelli-Hood won in the Ventilation category.

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Four community leaders have joined the Clermont Chamber Board of Directors. New board members are Amanda Davenport, Regional Manager with Fifth Third Bank; David Gooch, President of Park National Bank; Berta Velilla, Director of Early Childhood Education with Child Focus Inc.; Mary Jane West, Vice President of Business Development with The National Bank & Trust Company.

“The Chamber board focused on adding strength and experience in the banking and human services sectors, and the addition of these individuals rounds-out the overall composition of the board of directors.” said Matt Van Sant, Chamber President and CEO.

Goshen Local Gets Duke Energy Grant

Clermont County (Fox19.com) - Warren Walker and Todd Frank from Duke Energy were on hand at the December 12th Board of Education Meeting to award Goshen Local Schools a $20,000 grant through the Duke Energy Foundation. The grant dollars will be used to purchase IPads that will support the district's efforts with our STEM education programs. Goshen Local Schools completed an online grant application for financial consideration. The request was reviewed at the regional level, and a decision was made based on the application details, the needs of the community and alignment with Duke Energy Foundation's areas of focus.

  Since 1985, the Duke Energy Foundation has given grants to non-profit organizations throughout the communities where Duke Energy serves and operates. Duke Energy believes that developing and fostering strong educational programs can positively change a community’s economic and workforce development.

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH – Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted will meet with members of the Brown County Chamber of Commerce and the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce on Friday, January 13, 2012. The Secretary will be making remarks at two separate meetings on issues involving business development and Ohio’s economic climate. He will also be touring local companies as part of his visit. Secretary Husted will be joined by chamber members as well as civic leaders from the area.

Her will visit the Brown County Chamber of Commerce Breakfast, 8:00 AM, at the Country Inn of Mt. Orab, 290 Brooks Mallott Road, Mt. Orab, OH 45154.

The he will attend the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon , 12:00 noon, at Receptions Eastgate, 4450 Eastgate South Drive, in Union Township.
