MOSCOW, OH (FOX19) - The U.S. Small Business Administration on Tuesday announced the opening of a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at the Moscow River Valley Community Center, 30 Wells Street, Moscow, Ohio.

The center will serve not just Clermont but neighboring counties as well.

People and businesses with uninsured losses and damages caused by the tornadoes, high winds and flooding on March 2 should take advantage of SBA’s disaster assistance program and apply.  Customer Service Representatives at the Center are available for one-on-one assistance and can help with the application process.

The center will only be in town for a few days.

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY (FOX19) - On April 17, 2012 The Clermont Chamber HR Roundtable discussion will be on the pitfalls surrounding the use of social media by the employer and its employees. They will explore best practices for employers in terms of their own use and policies and practices needed with respect to employee use. 

It’s a field that continues to generate controversies, with employers demanding access to employees’ and job candidates’ Facebook accounts, and former workers talking private accounts that had been used with them when they went to new jobs.

MOSCOW, OH (FOX19) – The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati will unveil a program Friday to make $5,000,000 in grants to help people whose homes were damaged by the March 2 tornados in Ohio and Kentucky. 

Homeowners are eligible for up to $20,000 toward reconstruction or repair of a home, or acquisition of a new one.  Details will be unveiled by the FHLBank’s David Hehman Friday morning in Moscow.

The FHLBank is a wholesale lender providing housing finance and economic development products and services to 741 member institutions located in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. Chartered by the U.S. Congress, the FHLBank is one of 12 district cooperative banks wholly owned by its members and does not receive taxpayer dollars.

BATAVIA (FOX19) - The Board of Clermont County Commissioners is inviting interested citizens to apply for a vacant position on the Clermont County Planning Commission. 

The duties of this commission include the development, updates, application, and enforcement of the Clermont County Subdivision Regulations, county thoroughfare plan (Access Clermont), recommendations to various township zoning authorities (pertaining to changes in their local zoning regulations), and other land use planning initiatives.

The Clermont County Planning Commission generally meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.  Clermont Planning Commission members serve a three-year term; no members are permitted to serve more than two consecutive terms.

Governor Kasich visits Clermont County

BATAVIA TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19)- Ohio Governor John Kasich visited Batavia Township Thursday for the opening of a new plant that will use the latest processes to recycle aluminum. 

The governor attended a ribbon-cutting at Global Scrap Management's new Altimet facility, which is located in part of the old Ford Plant on Batavia Road. 

The plant will take used material containing aluminum and process it into high-quality ingots and pellets.

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Deerfield Pointe Charitable Group, Inc. held its annual fundraiser for local children’s charities this Saturday at the Day Heights Memorial Firefighters Hall.  This event, Project Rewind of Milford (P.R.O.M.) was able to raise $3,500 for local charities including the Corey Nickell Memorial Fund and Kids Against Hunger.
