BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) – The Fallen Heroes of Clermont County Memorial Committee is launching its announcement of a new Veterans’ Memorial with a ground breaking ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, May 14 at 10am near the Matt Maupin Welcome Pavilion in East Fork State Park.
The committee is made up of Clermont County residents and professionals who are designing, funding and installing a memorial that will serve as a dignified tribute for the 14 Clermont County military who have given their lives in service for the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. An official Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be held this fall, the members hope to have the memorial installed and ready for the ceremony by Veteran’s Day this November. The ceremony will be open to the public, with a special focus on the Gold Star families; the immediate family members of a military person who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
